Help find missing children and seniors.

Over 540,000 people go missing every year.

Join the Q5id Guardian community to bring missing loved ones home.

The Facts:

  • Over 540,000 people were reported missing in the US in 2020
  • In 2020, only 200 AMBER Alerts were issued
  • Only 46 children were recovered from AMBER Alerts that year
  • Silver Alerts are only issued in some states

Coming this year:

In conjunction with NCMEC, Q5id will launch the Q5id Guardian app.

The Q5id Guardian app will help find children, seniors, or those with special needs that have gone missing.

Alerts are local, immediate, and easy to broadcast for Q5id Guardian subscribers.

How is this different from an AMBER or a Silver Alert?

Both AMBER and Silver Alerts require the involvement of local authorities and have a high bar of imminent danger required to actually be issued. Both alerts are issued over a wide geographic area, making it difficult for Good Samaritans to actually help in the search.

The Q5id Guardian app makes the search localized to an area where the missing person is most likely to be found. Additionally, the Q5id Guardian app provides photos and details submitted by the Guardian subscriber to aid in the search. If a missing person is not found, the Guardian subscriber can then share those details with 911, giving the local authorities vital information to help in their search.

What do I do if I find a missing person?

You’ll be able to message or call the Guardian subscriber who issued the alert directly through the app. This allows you to coordinate directly with them to reunite the missing person with their loved one.

How will alerts of missing people be sent?

Alerts are sent via a push notification to the installed app on your phone. Alerts are sent on an opt-in basis, and if you receive an alert, you should be close enough to help.

Will alerts be sent to law enforcement?

You will be able to alert 911 directly within the app. Depending on your local agency’s technological capabilities, details such as your loved one’s height, weight, age, and other information can be sent directly to the operator to help find them.

How much will the app cost?

It is free to be a Q5id Guardian volunteer, so your entire neighborhood can participate even if they have no need to create a member profile for a child or vulnerable adult. Initial enrollment as a Q5id Guardian subscriber has a one-time $5 fee, and the monthly subscription is $3.99.

Why do I have to use the Q5id app to become a Guardian?

We rely on the Q5id identity proofing services to ensure that everyone enrolled in the app is exactly who they claim to be. No one can pretend to be younger, older, or someone you think you know and trust. By verifying the identity of every person enrolled, we keep the Q5id Guardian community full of volunteers you can trust.

Do I have to verify my identity even if I’m just a volunteer and not a subscriber?

Yes, all members of the Q5id Guardian community must verify their identity to participate. This keeps users and their loved ones safe.

What information do I need to provide to verify my identity?

You’ll need a governmentissued ID, a well-lit area, and your mobile phone. The Q5id identity proofing process confirms your identity with a facial scan, palm scan, and check of your government-issued ID. once you’ve completed your Q5id verification. For ultimate security, Q5id Guardian utilizes password-less login with either your face or palm providing access to the app once you’ve completed your Q5id verification.

What if I change my mind after enrolling?

You can contact us at [email protected] and request that your information is deleted.

Will the app work on a tablet?

Yes, the app can be used on a tablet provided it has a cellular subscription enabled.
